In December 2021, Ivano-Frankivsk launched the creation of a new city strategy, moving away from the practice where the development of such documents is initiated and led by the City Council. The project has brought together several key stakeholders. Right now these include:
- Ivano-Frankivsk City Council represents local self-government and is responsible for the final approval of the document for implementation;
- The “Teple Misto” platform represents the civic sector;
- The Ivano-Frankivsk Business Association works with the business sector;
- The Ivano-Frankivsk National Academic Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko represents the cultural sector;
- The Carpathian Institute of Analytics “FrankoLytics” is responsible for science and analytics.
What this project is about:
The Strategy is a long-term plan for the development of the city, providing answers to key questions: What do we envision Ivano-Frankivsk to be, and how exactly will it change?
In a rapidly progressing world, to avoid getting lost among countless opportunities, we need to move forward with a clear vision of our goal. The Strategy is the answer to where exactly the city should move and at what pace — aiming to be not only a magnet within the country but also recognizable internationally.
What is our dream city? Can Ivano-Frankivsk become such a city, and what can be done to make it happen? We have already started this conversation with representatives from different spheres of city life: cultural organizations, business, city administration, educators, researchers, and the civic sector. We plan to make events related to this project regular and share all our actions so that you can learn about them quickly and join in if you wish.
Residents of Ivano-Frankivsk should enjoy both the high quality of life characteristic of small cities and the opportunities of a metropolis. The goal of the Strategy is to combine these advantages so that Ivano-Frankivsk remains globally competitive and one of the leaders in Ukraine.
Everyone has the opportunity to contribute in many different ways: through ideas, expertise, personal time, or financial support – the important thing is for the number of partners in this process to keep growing.
