Teple Misto platform provided organizational and financial support for 5 teams during the spring wave of the City Grants programme. An educational project, VR in the Library project was implemented by a team with Ivano-Frankivsk municipal central library system.
VR in the Library project is designed to showcase new and modern method of education to children, parents, teachers, and mentors, and present libraries as a place for informative events, interesting and interactive games. 6 events were held under the project, including 2 extra sessions due to the great interest in the new educational possibilities for children in the libraries.
As a result, over 150 children have received an opportunity to see planets of the Solar System, immerse themselves into the animal world, and visit Ukraine’s castles with a VR headset. Immediately after the sessions, over 70% of the children registered in the centralized library system, becoming the readers of Ivano-Frankivsk’s 19 libraries.
The project received wide coverage. Children from other cities of Ivano-Frankivsk region joined in too. The project team is planning to keep introducing children, parents, and teachers to the latest educational methods and share the experience and technology with other city libraries.
