One of the winners of the summer wave of the City Grants program is the initiative team “Frankivsk to Save” with the project of restoration of the old doors in the building-architectural monument at 1 Chopin Street (now – the building of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas).

The purpose of the project is to preserve the historical heritage of Ivano-Frankivsk on the example of the restoration of ancient doors at 1 Chopin Street. The doors in the house were replaced with plastic ones, and the authentic ones were kept at the university’s premises.

The project team has set a task to restore authentic doors and return them to the historical place where they belong and thereby show a practical example of a caring attitude toward old architectural elements, and especially toward young people, the students studying at this university.

It is important that the management of the educational institution has also joined the project and provided UAH 20,000 to complete the door restoration and fitting.

In September 2015, Teple Misto Platform founded the City Grants program to activate and strengthen initiatives, NGOs and communities, which are aimed at progressive development of the city, at implementing projects that improve quality of urban living and attracting community to take active part in the development of Ivano-Frankivsk.
